New season for willow projects and workshops in autumn 2023
January and February were busy with harvesting, spring and summer busy with plans and delivering all the projects and workshops this year.
After Open Studios in July I am happy to say there are commissions to work on, and some plans for new textile work in the studio. This is good, because the wet and windy weather has slowed outdoor work down a lot this summer.
There are several more coming soon, please use the 'Learn More' button for details and booking.
You can also contact me directly for half or whole day 1 - 1 sessions, these include developing specific skills and using a variety of materials.
Fair Trade: Material Matters
I have been awarded Arts Council England project funding and am really proud to be presenting Fair Trade: Material Matters at several community venues in Cambridgeshire, UK this autumn.
The work is a combination of drawn and stitched self-portraits, it combines original artwork and elements of environmental and community art workshops.
Everyone who draws a self-portrait is included in my hand-stitched work, using undyed recycled blankets and woad dyed yarn.
The first of three exhibition and workshop venues were held last month at Arbury Community Centre, Cambridge, in conjunction with The Cambridge Ethnic Community Forum and local residents.
The next two will be at Soham Library and Adams Heritage Centre, Littleport.
